We have a couple of guest bloggers today, namely, my nephew Greg Jerscheid and his friend, Dylan DeSoto.
Greg is our godson and he’s currently here from Maryland. He comes down to visit for a few days every summer. This year he brought with him this post, and I’m eternally grateful for his giving his kind, benevolent uncle as bit of a break.
Yeah, I know it never gets very boring here in Louisiana, but it’s always best to be prepared in case you do.
Greg and Dave had put together quite a long list, enough to cover several lifetimes for even the dullest person. I asked them to give you readers what they consider to be their very best ideas, so here’s the top 28:
- Pay off the National Debt… with a bad check.
- Print off some counterfeit Confederate money.
- Re-elect Richard Nixon. (Who cares if he’s dead? He can’t be any worse that some of the other clowns who’ve run in the last few elections.)
- Run for Pope. If you lose, run for God.
- Scare Stephen King
- Recite romantic poetry…to your toaster.
- Catch a falling star. Throw it back.
- Drive the speed limit…in your garage.
- Be in the wrong place at the right time.
- Play tag…on the nearest Interstate.
- Apply for a unicorn hunting license. If you get rejected…

- Pour qwik-set concrete in your brother’s waterbed.
- Give your cat or dog a suntan…in the microwave

- Change your name daily.
- Kidnap some Cabbage Patch Kids.
- Re-establish the Roman Empire…in Toronto.
- Bury your father’s car. Thell him the dog did it.
